Hogfather - The Illustrated Screenplay By Vadim Jean & Terry Pratchett
The Book
This book was first published in 2006 by Gollancz. The screenplay created the live-action, two-part movie for Sky in 2006 from the book Hogfather. Original written by Terry Pratchett.
What Did I Think
Three Auditors of Reality. Visit the Assassins Guild to place a bounty on the head of the Hogfather. Mr Teatimer is given the task of executing the kill.
Because of this, the Hogfather has disappeared. This as far as I know is not completely explained. Death with help from his servant, Albert. They have decided that they must take over the role of the Hogfather. As a result, the belief in the Hoghfather should continue to exist, in theory.
Meanwhile, while they are busy, they subtly manoeuvre Death's granddaughter, Susan, to investigate what is going on and hopefully stop Mr Teatimer and his crew from using the Tooth Fairy-collected teeth to take control of the children of Discworld, a sort of, DNA mind control thingamabob.
Mr Teatimer's plan will make everyone forget the Hogfather. Doing so will make him nonexistent and stop the Sun from rising again. That's Blood Magic for you.
This book is ideal for those who collect these types of books or fans of the Terry Pratchett series. Or for those who just enjoyed the movie. This book shows some of the behind-the-scenes images and photos from the movie. Set designs and original concept drawings.
And this is why I did enjoy reading this book. Fair enough it is not the same as a novel. It is less descriptive. But the inclusion of the background photos, concept designs and stills from the movie help to tell the story as you read along.
Reading and viewing this book has made me want to watch it again. So...
This book is for the fans of the movie and maybe a few hardcore Terry Pratchett fans. And for those who like screenplays. I received this as a gift from my wife. And as much as I appreciate the gesture. I would have never bought myself this book. But I am glad I have it in my collection. So, if you haven't yet, I recommend reading this and the original book. I have to admit I haven't read it. I will have to add it to my T.O.R. list.

May 2018 6th. Having fun at work. The night shift. A bank holiday, which means double bubble premium rate. Unloading a trailer that came in. It was loaded badly as the first few cages that came off, the contents flew out of all over the floor. The load was reported to the manager on duty in my area. After constantly going up and down to pick up and items and restacking them in to the cage, my left side from the hip down caved in on itself and I collapsed, grabbing hold on to a nearby cage before going all the way down. I thought I was okay, so I continued to move the cages to their destination. As I drove round I told a colleague what just happened. As I parked up in a lane I observed the colleague I told, I believe, what I had told him to a manager. I stopped in a lane drop off point and didn't feel so good. The manager came over and asked if I was okay and I really didn't. I felt woozy and my head wasn't at all clear. The manage...
Christmas 2017 It was pretty much like any other day off from work. Myself and the wife had gone to bed after watching some telly and having some food. As usual I went to bed a little later than the missus and got up before she did. The presents were under the Christmas tree and everything was quite. Apart from whatever I was watching on the computer. I had decided to put my pork joint on early as the wife doesn't really like the smell of the meat. I didn't have a turkey, as tradition dictates. I don't mind it. It's just I don't have time and patience to spend a few hours making sure it doesn't come out dry. The wife woke up wondering what the smell was. After the wife had finished moaning about the pork she went into Christmas mode. Acting like any typical kid on Christmas morning. Getting all giddy, not sure what to do first, breakfast or prezzies. DUH! Prezzies of course. From the previous day we h...
February 2018 So I was finally home from the hospital. It was time to start healing. The doctor had given me a two week sick note. Some powdered stuff to help with going to the toilet. Some antibiotics and I had to buy the painkillers, which I didn't mind as they were cheap. I also spent a lot of money on the man nappies. Resting at home was okay, I was stretch out on the recliner. Making sure my anus wasn't positioned on the sofa. The worst bit about it. Wasn't going to the toilet, as the blood flow helped with the pain of pooping. It was the numbness. I don't know how much they injected me with but the numbness was horrible. Touching my bum was like pressing on sandpaper under my skin. I think it took about three days to finally die away. So I could wipe properly. The end of the first week, was when I had to do the monthly shop. The wife couldn't come this time. I think she was at work. So I went, as ...
