Hogfather - The Illustrated Screenplay By Vadim Jean & Terry Pratchett
The Book
This book was first published in 2006 by Gollancz. The screenplay created the live-action, two-part movie for Sky in 2006 from the book Hogfather. Original written by Terry Pratchett.
What Did I Think
Three Auditors of Reality. Visit the Assassins Guild to place a bounty on the head of the Hogfather. Mr Teatimer is given the task of executing the kill.
Because of this, the Hogfather has disappeared. This as far as I know is not completely explained. Death with help from his servant, Albert. They have decided that they must take over the role of the Hogfather. As a result, the belief in the Hoghfather should continue to exist, in theory.
Meanwhile, while they are busy, they subtly manoeuvre Death's granddaughter, Susan, to investigate what is going on and hopefully stop Mr Teatimer and his crew from using the Tooth Fairy-collected teeth to take control of the children of Discworld, a sort of, DNA mind control thingamabob.
Mr Teatimer's plan will make everyone forget the Hogfather. Doing so will make him nonexistent and stop the Sun from rising again. That's Blood Magic for you.
This book is ideal for those who collect these types of books or fans of the Terry Pratchett series. Or for those who just enjoyed the movie. This book shows some of the behind-the-scenes images and photos from the movie. Set designs and original concept drawings.
And this is why I did enjoy reading this book. Fair enough it is not the same as a novel. It is less descriptive. But the inclusion of the background photos, concept designs and stills from the movie help to tell the story as you read along.
Reading and viewing this book has made me want to watch it again. So...
This book is for the fans of the movie and maybe a few hardcore Terry Pratchett fans. And for those who like screenplays. I received this as a gift from my wife. And as much as I appreciate the gesture. I would have never bought myself this book. But I am glad I have it in my collection. So, if you haven't yet, I recommend reading this and the original book. I have to admit I haven't read it. I will have to add it to my T.O.R. list.

15th May 2019. O2 Indigo Arena, London. Hollywood Babble-on. I have been a big fan of Kevin Smith for many, many years. Since the late 90s. Kevin Smith is a director, writer, producer, presenter and probably alot more. A great down to earth bloke and completely honest man who wouldn't say boo to a goose. But would definitely have your back as long as there would be a joint involved. So when I found out he was coming to England, on a tour. I snapped up the tickets straight away. Originally he was going on stage at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. But was changed to the Indigo theatre at the O2 Arena. Lucky for me as I somehow lost the original tickets and I was sent new ones. We arrived a couple of hours early and had to wonder around for a little while. We found something to amuse ourselves for a few minutes with a chair. Not just any chair though. The Throne from Game of Thrones. So after a f...
A couple of weeks ago I turned 40... I am scared in the fact I am one year closer to death. I don't want to die. I am not scared of going to hell or anything religious, I am an Atheist. I am scared of the nothing. I know I will be dead and I will not notice or feel anything. But that's the whole point. The Nothing. Not existing. Not doing anything for the rest of eternity. This seriously freaks me out. So scientist, hurry the fuck up and make us immortal already! The next best thing to do is to try and immortalise myself in another medium. I have chosen blogging. I was thinking maybe motovlogging, but I am too shy and lazy to spend my life doing that and besides I don't ride enough to justify a vlog. I also don't like the sound of my own voice. So here I am, behind a keyboard. Writing my thoughts down. Fair enough my words won't effect the world in a big way or in any way. But if it could help any body, in a real way. I will be happy with that....
Whilst I have been sitting around twiddling my thumbs I thought I would do a couple of computer courses through the union I am with. No. This isn't an ad. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. It's an elearning site with loads of free courses if you're a union member. They also link to another site where you do have to pay. I managed to complete NOCN Level 1 & 2 Award in IT User Skills (ITQ). In record time. I think each course is supposed to be completed in about fifteen weeks. I did both in less than four. Now I just have to work out what I want to do next. 21st June was my brothers birthday and we decided to spend the day at the cinema. We met up about 10ish outside of the cinema. I got there a bit earlier so I could get him a present. I got him a camera with a sd card to get him up and running. I was quite proud of what I had bought him and was a bit naffed when he turned it ...
